Safeguarding of Children and Adults at risk, with Mental Capacity Act – Level 2 training

This course has been updated to with improved visuals and includes group discussion work from a our live event. The course now includes dental specific case studies for delegates.

The Haven Wolverhampton is a charity that supports women and dependent children who are vulnerable to domestic violence, homelessness and abuse. Haven Wolverhampton is governed by a board of trustees who are volunteers from a diverse range of backgrounds. The board consists of 12 members who commit their skills and experiences towards the growth of the organisation and to ensure governance is maintained to a high standard. Rebecca runs the training for The Haven many years on safeguarding and the latest in Mental Capacity Act.

Aim

Provide level 2 training on Safeguarding of Children and Adults at risk.

 

Objectives:

• To provide an understanding of the legislation regarding safeguarding children and adults at risk
• To provide an awareness of individual and professional responsibilities to support children and adults at risk.
• To raise awareness so that health professionals understand ways to identifying, responding and preventing abuse and neglect.
• Locate support that is available in the in regards to safeguarding.

• Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act.


Learning Outcomes:

• An introduction to the key principles of safeguarding
• An awareness of the relevant legislation in relation to safeguarding, definition of abuse, an awareness of the main categories of abuse, why it is important to be able to identify the signs of abuse,
• knowing what to record, how report and share information about abuse, understand that we have a duty to report wrongdoing under 'whistle blowing,
• Understand our individual responsibilities regarding abuse.

• Understand how to comply with the Mental Capacity Act.
