This course is presented by Mr Richard Griffith.
Richard Griffith is a senior lecturer in law at the College of Human and Health Science, Swansea University, where he has taught since 1992. He initially trained as a nurse before turning his attention to law and an academic career. He has a particular interest in applied law and has published widely in a range of dental, pharmacy and medical journals. As well as teaching and research Richard also provides training and advice to Dental practices, NHS trusts and Local health Boards on applied law.

To inform you about Professionalism in dentistry.
Objectives
The course will show users how:
• Define professionalism
• State the functions of professionalism
• Describe the four spheres of accountability that impose standards on the dental professional
• List the nine professional standards required of you by the General Dental Council
• Discuss the requirements of a valid consent in dental care
• Understanding of the Mental Capacity Act.
